I can’t see how you can get any influence of flavor from wood in a 90 second cook time. I went for gas because it’s much easier to just turn it on and go, and to raise and lower temps to reheat between launches.
My Karu 16 arrived this week. We Have cooked with it using wood. It’s super easy and heats up in no time with wood only. Haven’t tried it with gas yet but I think using wood is more enjoyable and fun!
The wood taste is without a doubt the best! I use an Ooni Fyra 12 Wood Pellet Pizza Oven. The pizza gets a very good wood taste. My family tastes the pizza excellent 🍕
100% this. Any “wood fired flavor” from a 90 second cook is imaginary. I sometimes like the process of using wood, and it smells nice in the backyard, but gas is much easier to manage and get consistently good results.
